Venue Spotlight: Il Mercato

Il Mercato

Built in 1931, Il Mercato is a Spanish colonial style building designed by prominent local architect Sam Stone and originally constructed as a neighborhood market. This courtyard is located in the heart of New Orleans’ lower garden district.

Why we love it?

We have fallen head over heels for their sprawling fireplace that is absolutely stunning on its own, but can be dressed up in florals or candles for a beautiful ceremony backdrop. The modern feel and clean lines of this space make it a perfect fit for a couple with minimalist style. The ceremony space also features the famous New orleans architecture peaking out from behind the fireplace.

P.S. the ladies bathroom is completely magical, we’d pretty much move in if we could!

To see even more prettiness from this lovely space, check out Holly + Mark’s June wedding here.
